Most agencies treat equipment as a line item inside a package. We treat it as the account. Equipment Guard Insurance writes contractors equipment monoline — an equipment floater on its own, no bundle required — because the machine is what earns, and the machine is what deserves the underwriting attention.
Who we are
Equipment Guard Insurance is a specialty brand of Wexford Insurance, LLC, an independent agency (NPN 19887690) licensed in 48 states. We are not a carrier and we are not a lead form — we are brokers who place equipment schedules with the markets that will write them, on a wholesale and brokered basis. The whole panel of markets we place through is named on our homepage, because a market list that will not stand being published is not much of a credential.
The reason we lead with the equipment floater rather than a package is practical, not ideological. A number of markets in this class will not look at a schedule of iron unless supporting lines come attached, and knowing which will and which will not is most of the work. That knowledge is what makes writing you equipment-only possible — it is the whole point of the brand.
Nate Jones, CPCU
Founder
Nate Jones considers himself the “insurance nerd” of our company. He is a graduate of Indiana State University where he majored in Insurance & Risk Management. Before starting Wexford Insurance, Nate worked on numerous sides of the insurance industry as an Underwriting Manager and Risk Management Consultant, and he holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. He connects with people on LinkedIn, and he places equipment schedules across the country through markets that will look at the iron on its own.
Kami Jones
Co-Founder
Kami Jones is by far the most detailed and creative person at our company. Before starting Wexford Insurance, Kami worked as a Client Service Manager in the industry. She keeps the accounts accurate and the service responsive — the unglamorous work that decides whether a claim goes smoothly or badly.
What we write
The equipment floater is the flagship, and the other lines exist to sit around it when a job calls for them — never to be required as a condition of writing the iron. Browse every coverage line we place or the equipment types we write, and when you are ready, send the schedule.
